What to expect:

A personal letter from Senior Pastor, Zach Kilpatrick,

I’m excited that you are interested in visiting us at MZBC. I would love to share a couple of things that might help you set some expectations on what you will find if you do.

When you arrive at Mt. Zion, you can expect to find a country church that doesn’t feel so much like a “traditional” country church. We believe you’ll find the best parts of a country church: plenty of hospitality, welcoming faces, and lots of people who love Jesus and you! However, what you shouldn’t expect to find is the “private keep out unless you are one of us” subculture that some people have come to expect.

You’ll be greeted at the door by one of our hospitality team members, and they would love to help you find anything you are looking for. You will likely encounter several others standing around visiting on the porch area as well, because members of MZBC always seem excited to see one another! Don’t worry, they will be excited to see you, too!

No matter which service you attend, you will find childcare options, and you are always welcome to keep your little ones with you. At Mt. Zion, we love seeing families worship together and want to accommodate you in whatever way possible.

The culture at MZBC is welcoming, friendly, and laid-back. You don’t have to wear a suit and tie (in fact, you might be the only person wearing one). If there is something you need, feel free to ask anyone that you see sitting or standing around, and I trust they will be more than happy to help you!

Our Sunday School/Small Groups classes meet at 9:30, and you will find a variety of classes. Some are based on age, some on gender, but all are wonderful. Different teachers use different styles, and if the first class you visit doesn’t seem just right for you, we welcome you to come back next week and visit another class to see if it’s a better fit!

In our Corporate Worship service, we will sing, and I invite you to join us. We will also pray, read Scripture, and have a sermon that helps explain part of the Bible. Our typical worship service lasts somewhere between 50 minutes and 1 hour. At no point will guests be called out, asked to stand up, or to introduce themselves. We simply invite you to come and join us in this time of worshipping God!
